NEW YEAR 2009 FITNESS GOALS FOR KIDS, MEN, AND WOMEN - NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS

 

Many people stop going to the gym and their other physical activities during the Christmas holidays mostly due to lack of time or other priorities, but these people also set new goals for the New Year, goals that most of them will forget throughout the year.

This is because they don't use some tricks that are useful not to forget their plans.

First of all, one must determine what he exactly wants to achieve, and choose goals that challenges and excite him. Do not set too easy goals, because you know that when you will have achieved them you won't feel like to play anymore and will lose all motivation. So if you want to achieve awesome fitness then set goals that really challenge you all the way.
About your goals, you should be as clear as possible in your list, and for example decide how big you want your arms to be, how fast you want to run, or how much weight you want to lose, and to fit in what size of clothes.

Determining exactly what you want will charge up your energy, open you mind up to possible ways to achieve your goal, and allow you to design a clear plan to achieve your goal. So when goals have been chosen you will have to stick to them, and never forget them throughout the year.

Now that you know what you want to do, try to find the best method to get you to your goal, and if you don't know what exercises are useful for you, how much to eat, or how often to workout, then read magazines, books or online articles on nutrition and exercise. Then, when you have the necessary knowledge, set a clear plan to achieve your goals, and be as specific as possible, setting your fitness program and diet day by day. Of course you can adjust your program later, for example if you think it's not efficient enough. When it's possible, it's also good to break your main goal into small weekly goals, but keep in mind what is the final result expected.

As you set goals for the full year, don't wait anymore and as soon as the new year 2007 is here, start moving towards your goals, for example apply to a gym right way at the beginning of January, or buy some healthy food or a scale that you will need during your diet.

When you will have started your plan, never hesitate to adapt it if you feel that it's too easy or too difficult to achieve. Never forget that this is a full year resolution, and that trying to do something too difficult might discourage you, but also that doing something too easy will make you lose your motivation. Also adapt to circumstances, and if one day you can't go to the gym, try to go the next day, or if you must go to the restaurant, try to eat less the next day.

If you go on vacation try to keep some physical activity, and do not eliminate it completely just because you can't go to you regular fitness club.

If your routine involves an hour at the gym or walking outside everyday, its better to reduce that time rather than completely eliminate activity on any given day. It is all right to alter your routine to accommodate the holiday but remember that the big picture is to maintain your fitness throughout the year, even during holidays.

Trying new types of exercise can be a chance during the holidays, and even activities yoga or pilates can be profitable.
The best is to jog daily for at least 30 minutes, but not everybody can find the power and time to do it on vacation.
If you go to the beach, try to play and swim with friends and kids as much as possible. Get creative with your activity and try to find things that you really like.

Don't forget that all year long, whatever happen, exercise should be a high priority, and that if exercising is at the bottom of your priority list, you will never achieve your objectives and essentially waste your time revising your list.

If you are new to exercise and have good resolutions for the new year, remember to start small and be consistent. Keep focused on what you are doing each week but also remember what you will have to achieve during the full year.
